We have a number of volunteers who help us walk our dogs each day, however the Springer Spaniel is a breed that requires a lot of stimulation for them to be happy and fulfilled. We sometimes get dogs that take longer than others to re-home so whilst they are with us we try to do our best to enrich their lives.

We have recently giving the longer stay dogs the opportuntiy to stretch their legs in the swimming pool at Rivos Swim Gym at Hoylandswaine and Muppets Canine Therapy in Handsworth (check out our links page for contact information).   Most dogs love to swim and it's a fantastic form of exercise and stimulation, depending where you look the statistics vary slightly but one minute of swimming is similar to them doing a mile of walking (and without any pressure on their joints).
