We could not continue to do what we do without the help of many supporters.  Please read through our supporting us section, there are many ways you can help and this does not necessarily mean donating money (although that of course is always welcome) so it is likely you will find some way that you can support us.

SUPPORTING THE SPRINGERS

Fundraising is always high on our list of priorities.  Without sufficient funds we will be unable to continue to help future dogs.  Some dogs would probably find a new home eventually without the help of a rescue, but those who are older or have medical or behavioural issues would have no chance and we don’t want to be in a position where we have to turn them down.  Our busy and expensive start to 2010 has put a strain on our finances  and we need all the help we can to try and get our bank balance looking a bit more healthy.  There are many ways you can help and this does not necessarily mean by donating money (although that is always welcome) so it is likely that you will be able to find at least one way that you could help us.  Everyone involved with the charity is a volunteer so you know that rather than paying for someone's salary any donation you make goes directly to help the dogs..

RECYCLING

MOBILE PHONES

Many people have old mobile phones stuck in drawers etc around the house.  These can be worth £’s to us (even broken, faulty or locked ones).  All you need to do is request envelopes at www.recycle4charity.co.uk, pop in the phone and drop into a post box.  If you fill out your name and address they will send you a replacement envelope for next time.

INKJET & LASER CARTRIDGES

Inkjets can be found in printers, fax machines, and most multifunction equipment. As a general rule - if it fits in the palm of your hand and has a small metal circuit board on it - it's an inkjet!  Epson cartridges are ink tanks, not inkjets and unfortunately cannot be recycled.  Like the mobile phones all you need to do is request envelopes at www.recycle4charity.co.uk, pop in the phone and drop into a post box.  If you fill out your name and address they will send you a replacement envelope for next time.

Laser toner cartridges are the ones used in the larger office type printers, these too can be recycled for cash.  If you work for a company that will allow it why not recycle them to help us.   You can request a box for recycling them at www.recycle4charity.co.uk.

BROKEN GOLD CHAINS AND ODD EARRINGS

With all the adverts recently advertising money for gold, we thought we would take advantage of this and try and raise a few £’s for the Springers.  Obviously we aren’t asking you to donate precious and valuable items but we thought that many of you may have odd little bits (odd earrings, broken chains etc) that aren’t worth you sending in on their own but if you sent to us we could send in in one batch and perhaps make a few pounds.  You can send them to us or bring them to any of our events

LEGACY

For a gift that lasts beyond your lifetime why not make a pledge to leave us a gift in your will.  If you are making a will it is also worth thinking about what will happen to your dogs/pets should you no longer be there to care for them and making appropriate provisions to ensure that they will continue to receive the love and care that you would want them to have.

SPECIAL SUPPORTER SCHEME AND/OR SPRINGERBALL

There are two options for making a monthly contributions.  You can join our special supporter scheme by making a monthly payment by standing order.  There is no minimum amount and every penny helps.  All you need to do is to complete the enclosed bank mandate form.

Or you can join our Springerball lottery which allows you to raise funds whilst giving you a chance to win cash too.  It's very simple, you pay £5 per month and are allocated a number from 1 – 49. On the first Saturday of each month whichever bonus ball is drawn in the National Lottery main lotto draw then the person who has been allocated that number wins £50, the remaining funds will go direct to our special dogs, helping to ensure that receive the care they deserve. Simply complete the enclosed bank mandate form and return it to your bank/us.

Next month the winner could be you!

TOMBOLA PRIZES

A tried and tested way of raising funds at the events we attend is by running a Tombola stall.  In order to do this we need a large number of Tombola prizes so if you have any unwanted and unused gifts, toiletries, bottles etc gathering dust in your cupboards please consider donating them to us.  You can bring them to any of our events, if this isn’t possible give us a call and we can arrange something else.

ONE OFF DONATION

You can make a one off donation by post, cheques should be made payable to SYESSR and posted to the address on the front of the newsletter.  If you wish to pay by credit/debit card you can pay using Paypal by clicking on the donation button on our website.  Every penny helps and lots of small donations add up to the cost of rescuing a Springer.

Why not give up one of your treats for a short time and donate the money you save to rescue, it may even help you get into shape for summer too.

BOOK SALE

We get lots of good books donated to rescue and although we manage to sell quite a lot at our events we still have a large number (mainly novels).  Do you work anywhere that you could take a box in to sell?  It would be a great help to us and your colleagues would get the opportunity to buy their holiday reading at a knock down price.

Please contact us if you think you can help.

ATTEND AN EVENT

We do a lot of our fundraising at events throughout the area so why not join us.  We generally have a number of items for sale bric a brac, books, doggie items, toys etc, we run a tombola stall and depending on the sort of event sometimes run a dog show.

RAISE FUNDS FOR SYESSR WHEN YOU SHOP ONLINE

Easyfundraising is a fantastic new website where you can raise funds for South Yorkshire English Springer Spaniel Rescue just by shopping online with over 400 top retailers and it is at no cost to you!  In fact in many cases you get a better deal than if you actually went into the shop to purchase the item.

Whether you are looking for insurance, holidays, gifts, health and beauty, electronics, entertainment, wine, sport, motoring,flowers, finance, internet services, or anything else, there is a way you can help us. The way it works is:  Log on to;

www.easyfundraising.org.uk/syessr.

Complete the simple one page registration electing SYESSR as your nominated charity.  SYESSR will then receive a donation from any purchases you make when using the site

It seems generous, but when you buy online costs are much lower and retailers are more than willing to help good causes when new 'online' customers are introduced to them via this website.

The donation amount varies depending upon the retailer, but is between 1% and 15% and is AT NO EXTRA COST TO YOU !  For example, spend £25 with WH Smith and 3.5% will be donated. You will have raised £0.88, at no extra cost to your purchase. Make any purchase from Woolworths and 2.5% will be donated. Insure your car with The AA and raise £30.00, or purchase a mobile phone from Vodafone and earn £29.00, and so on.  The list is endless..

PLEASE REMEMBER TO USE THE EASY FUNDRAISING SITE EACH TIME YOU MAKE A PURCHASE (WHY NOT MAKE IT YOUR HOME PAGE) —THE PATTERN SHOWS THAT MANY PEOPLE USE IT INITIALLY BUT THEN FORGET ABOUT IT WHICH MEANS WE ARE THEN MISSING OUT ON THESE MUCH NEEDED FUNDS.

Please note that your purchases will be dealt with directly by the retailer.   To ensure that the retailers security is maintained neither SYESSR or Easyfundraising have access to the information you submit.

You can also help us raise money by just searching on the web, to find out more just log on to www.easysearch.org.uk.  We get around a penny for each search, it doesn’t sound much but it soon adds up.
